Abstract
You Can Teach Your Child with Down Syndrome
Home school your special needs child with success
Did you know your child with Down Syndrome can learn quickly?
And you can teach him--at home--successfully.
My name is Helen Middlebrooke and I am the mother of Deborah, a lovely
little girl with Down syndrome. When Deborah came into my life, I knew
she would be home schooled along with all of her siblings. But how? I
had never had a child with Down syndrome before.
I felt alone. Unsupported.
Not only was I wanting to home school a Down syndrome child, I was
wanting to do so on Guam, an isolated island in the western Pacific.
Where was I to begin?
I knew enough about Trisomy 21 to know early intervention would be
important in helping Deborah achieve her full potential. So I put her
in a government-supported early intervention program.
What a disaster!
When it came to Down syndrome, the therapists dealt in stereotypes and
labels. Deborah was "high functioning" but she was still "delayed."
They wanted me to direct the therapy, but I was clueless, so I let them
lead. They approached her piecemeal, not as a whole person, and they
began putting the pieces together in the wrong order!
Consequently, Deborah did not progress. She did not talk. And could not
walk. Their assessments showed that she was becoming more delayed.
In my heart, I knew they were wrong. I knew that she was smart, but we
were failing to tap into her potential.
After wasting more than two years of Deborah's life, I found an
approach that addressed the real causes of her delays. Within a year
she was reading and saying words; within two she was walking.
We still have a long road ahead of us, and there are many things yet to
discover. But I believe that Deborah will reach her potential and be
all that God wants her to be.
Thanks to Deborah, I have learned much about development, particularly
how the body and brain work together, and how a genetically altered
body does not work well at all. I've done some things wrong, and some
things right.
And now, nearly 10 years down the road, I'd like to share some of the
things I've learned about teaching a child with Down syndrome. I'd like
to shorten your learning curve, and help you find faster success as you
home school your child with Down syndrome.
Please join me for an informative FREE 6-Part Mini-Course that will
help you:
* Recognize the lies about Down
syndrome
* Look at Down's syndrome from a new
perspective
* Understand why that "extra
chromosome" is so damaging to a body
and mind.
* Open the physical lock that binds
our children and slows their
development
* Learn the importance of normalizing
the sensory pathways
* Teach your toddler with Down
syndrome to read instantly.
Just fill in your first name and primary email in the box below to
claim your FREE 6-Part Mini-Course. And while you're at it, please ask
me your most pressing question about teaching your child with Down
syndrome. (I'm a bit of an info-holic; I love finding answers for my

Enter your search keyword(s) and the keyword "zorgium" into the search input field of

Heads up: There's an ongoing spamdexing of Google searchbot algorithms. Sites that are 'copies of copies' and cloaked sites which include Zorgium keywords presented to search engine crawlers yet garbage content presented to human visitors were hosted on thousands of IP addresses and domains registered immediately after the introduction of Zorgium in November of 2009. The Hostgator/'The Planet'/Softlayer datacenters in Texas seem to be the epicenter of this activity in conjunction with anonymously registered domains of various TLD's but primarily .info domains at Godaddy which, in our opinion, has some sort of connection to the domains of goldmint.in and goldmint.org. Google has begun to notice this and has begun to lower the ranking of these sites and put our original sites back on top of the search rankings. These actions, as far as we can tell, negatively impact the use of the keyword 'zorgium' as a search term and provided little benefit, if any, to the perpetrators.
ZORGIUM note to content providers: If you don't want your page to appear in Zorgium's search abstraction then put an exclusion for "Zorgium" in your web server's robots.txt file.
